THE TRAPP FAMILY LODGE IN VERMONT (DVT0807) ~ The "Sound of Music" is a Broadway musical and film based on the book "The Story of the Trapp Family Singers" by Maria von Trapp. The film version was one of the biggest box office hits in cinema history. This four or five-day tour features rooms at the Trapp Family Lodge, a full country breakfast each morning and a three-course dinner each evening while at the lodge. Touring options in Vermont include stops at Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory (sampling the "flavor of the day" as well as selecting an ice cream cone), a chocolate company, coffee roaster, Cabot Cheese and the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory Annex (which offers their personalized teddy bears on our area radio stations before every major holiday). Another fascinating visit could be made to the Rock of Ages Granite Quarry (seeing the "Granite Capital of the World" from the comfort of our motorcoach), Montpelier (the capital of Vermont) and a maple syrup farm. One day we’ll be having lunch aboard the "Spirit of Ethan Allen" during our narrated cruise on Lake Champlain. Each day we will be back at the Lodge for "Afternoon Tea and Cookies". THEMED FESTIVAL PLUS NEW YORK CITY OR THE POCONOS (DCC0806) – This package is typically four days in length and combines rooms at a first-class hotel, a festive theme day at a Waterfront Resort plus a day in New York City or a day in the Pocono Mountains. Choose from the Polish Festival, Port of Call, Country Western, Big Band Festival, Ride the Rails, Day at the Lake, Afternoon Escape, Italian Festival, Fall Foliage or the Germanfest (call for dates of each festival). You’ll be greeted at the festival theme day with coffee and apple streusel cake followed by a complete themed luncheon with activities and entertainment. While in New York City, the group will enjoy a Broadway Show of your choice, a guided tour and a complete dinner. If you select the Pocono option, the group will enjoy a visit to Steamtown National Historic Site (the only National Park in the country dedicated to railroad history), ride an authentic trolley, "Go down in History" at the national award-winning Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour, tour the magnificent St. Peter’s Cathedral, admissions to the Wayne County Historical Museum or visit a casino. PINEGROVE DUDE RANCH RESORT (DPT0808) - This is a family-owned ranch and resort in the picturesque foothills of the Catskill Mountains. A typical weekday package includes cake served upon arrival, four nights of rooms, twelve meals served in the panoramic dining room plus you can mosey on down to the Snack Bar for complementary burgers, hotdogs, and ice cream, live entertainment nightly (dancing, showtime, square dancing), milk and cookies nightly, social programs with the social directors (bingo, exercises, dance classes, trivia, nature walks, horse racing games, arts & crafts, mini-golf, bocci, archery, fitness center, pool, horseback riding, boating, shopping trip, optional trip to Mighty M Gaming casino, daily Bloody Mary parties and cocktail parties with hors d’oeuvres.
