LANCASTER &
YORK’S FASCINATING DESTINATIONS
Two Shows: “Abraham & Sarah” and the Musical “Footloose”
Thursday -
Saturday, June 10 - 12, 2008
Three-Day Tour
with Five Meals
$474.00 per
person
$98.00 single supplement
Over the years visitors to the Pennsylvania Dutch Country of Lancaster and
Hershey have enjoyed great dining, countryside shops, live performances, outlet
centers, Chocolate World and more! While some of our tour will be centered on
the history of this area, we will also focus on some “cities of today”. We’ll be
visiting the Pfaltzgraff Outlet Store, Wolfgang Candy Company and other great
attractions.
One of the attractions we’ve added is the operating Robotic Dairy Farm, truly
unique, one of the first of its kind in the United States. We’ll be seeing the
fully robotic milking facility; these cows are so “pampered” they sleep on
waterbeds and have a back scratcher. Of course we’ll be visiting the calving
barn to see the newest arrivals. We are also anticipating a visit to the
assembly plant for the Harley-Davidson motorcycles, seeing these American made
“bikes” being assembled. For those wanting to bring a camera, you’ll be able to
have your photo taken sitting on a freshly-built cycle.
Since this area is known for its “great cooking”, five delicious meals are
included. One of the meals is a luncheon at the fashionable Hershey Lodge; this
is one of the highlights of this tour. Another meal will be a family-style
dinner at Good ‘N Plenty Restaurant in Smoketown, Pennsylvania. Two shows are
included this year, the first being the musical “Footloose”, from the 1984 movie
that tells the story of a Chicago-born teenager who moves to a small town whose
government has banned dancing and rock music. You can guess what happens by the
end of the show. The second live performance will be the production of “Abraham
& Sarah”; desperately wanting a child, they are thrilled when God promises to
bless them with one. But, when Abraham is 100 years old, God fulfills his
promise.
Forty-four million people have visited Hershey, Pennsylvania, since it was
established in 1903. Now is your chance this year — we’ll meet at the corner of
Cocoa Avenue and East Chocolate Avenue . . . the sweetest place on earth. Time
will be available to shop in this Chocolate Company’s candy store before dining
at the elegant Hershey Lodge.
