THE HEART OF THE
SMOKIES . . . Monday - Thursday, June 16 - 19, 2008 Four-Day Tour with Seven Meals $634.00 per
person There’s no place quite like the Great Smoky Mountains, once called
Shaconage, “the place of blue smoke”, by the Indians who lived in this area. The
breezes are most enjoyable during mid-June as we prepare to welcome summertime.
We’ll be traveling into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which runs from
Tennessee to North Carolina. A panoramic view of both states can be enjoyed at
both Newfound Gap and Clingman’s Dome which are at the top of “Old Smoky”. You
can observe white-tailed deer, black bear, wild turkeys, and other wildlife
which inhabit the mountains. Scattered all along the eleven-mile Loop Road you
will find pioneer homesteads, churches, a working grist mill and community
buildings which have been preserved through the years. We’ll be enjoying four
great evening shows in this delightful package with seven meals. Departure Points
Stops will be made only at locations with passenger sign-ups.
