One-Day Tour with One Meal
$79.00 per person
Over the years we’ve offered a number of tour packages to the Holmes
County area, but this one-day offering includes an insight into so much more of
the Amish and Mennonite “life style”. During the mid-1950’s an old-time hardware
store was built in the heart of Kidron, Ohio. Ironically, what started out as a
business to serve the local Amish has turned into an international operation,
shipping products worldwide which were originally manufactured for a religious
group that believes in simple living without electricity or modern innovations.
It’s a “living museum” and a source that movie producers utilize to create an
authentic scene.
We’ll be touring an Amish home and seeing the farm that is part of the area’s
beauty. The family that owns the home were born and raised Amish, telling you
about the true concepts of Amish customs, traditions and their life styles.
Topping off this visit will be an Amish buggy ride . . . something that you and
your guests should long remember.
Our family-style luncheon, featuring freshly-cooked chicken and juicy roast
beef, will be at the beautiful Chalet in the Valley. We’ll also be visiting
their cheese factory to sample and purchase some great offerings prepared by the
Guggisberg family.
