SPRING IN HOLMES COUNTY AMISH COUNTRY

Saturday April 17, 2010

$78

Perhaps if you’ve been looking for something different, searching high and low, Ohio Amish Country and it’s flea market are where you can find it. At the newly-relocated and expanded Flea Market, there’s no need to travel to small, obscure shops to find that special antique or collectible. You’ll find everything from handmade wood items to crafts, antiques and quilts, or to whatever may interest you . . . but this is only the start of a great tour on a Saturday and it’s ideal for those who have to work during the week.

Dinner today is special, since we’ll be having a chicken & beef family-style meal that this area is known for. No one will want to skip a tempting piece of their pie for dessert either. We’ll also be making stops at the impressive Carlisle House, the Der Dutchman Bakery, Coblentz Chocolates and, just before we head for home, an Amish Meat Market that offers bacon, steaks, smoked pork chops and other great items you may want to take home. We’ve expanded this tour to include Sol’s Exchange in Berlin, with its various shops and buildings offering furniture, candles, quilts, handmade dolls and even goose clothes.
